Welcome to Host256. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the services provided by Host256 ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Services Offered

Host256 provides a comprehensive suite of digital solutions, including but not limited to:

3. Account Responsibilities

To access certain services, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
  • Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account.
  • Notify us immediately if you discover or suspect any security breaches related to our services or your account.
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Payment & Billing

4.1 Subscriptions and Renewals

Services are billed on a subscription basis (Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually). Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled through the client portal prior to the renewal date.

4.2 Late Payments

Host256 reserves the right to suspend services if invoices remain unpaid past their due date. A restoration fee may apply to reactivate suspended accounts.

4.3 Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on shared hosting services. Domain registrations, VPS, and custom development services are non-refundable once initiated.

5. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

You agree not to use Host256 services for any prohibited activities, including:

  • Hosting or distributing illegal content or malware.
  • Phishing, scams, or fraudulent activities.
  • Sending unsolicited bulk emails (Spam).
  • Copyright or intellectual property infringement.
  • Resource abuse that negatively impacts other users on a shared server.
  • Unauthorized attempts to breach security or "hack" any server or network.

6. Hosting Resource Usage

Shared hosting accounts are subject to a "Fair Usage Policy." Accounts using excessive CPU, RAM, or Disk I/O that affects server stability may be throttled or suspended without prior notice to protect the service quality for other clients.

7. Domain Registration

Host256 acts as a registrar/reseller. You are the legal owner of any domain you register. You are solely responsible for ensuring domains are renewed on time. We are not liable for the loss of a domain due to expired payment.

8. Limitation of Liability

Host256 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or use, whether in an action in contract or tort, arising out of or in any way connected with the use of our services. We do not guarantee 100% uptime, although we strive for 99.9%.

9. Backups

While we perform regular system backups for disaster recovery, clients are responsible for maintaining their own off-site backups of their data. Host256 is not liable for data loss under any circumstances.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kampala, Uganda.
