Law Enforcement Requests

Host256 cooperates with law enforcement agencies globally while balancing the privacy rights of our users. This policy outlines how we handle requests for information or actions from authorized government and legal authorities.

Legal Cooperation Statement

We comply with all valid legal requests (e.g., subpoenas, court orders, warrants) that are issued in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda or relevant international mutual legal assistance treaties (MLAT).

Types of Requests Accepted

  • Official Court Orders.
  • Police Subpoenas for identity verification.
  • Cybercrime and Fraud investigation requests.
  • Intellectual Property theft investigations.

Required Documentation

To process a request, it must be submitted on official agency letterhead and include:

  • The name of the law enforcement agency and officer in charge.
  • The specific Domain Name, IP Address, or Account ID in question.
  • Detailed description of the investigation.
  • A valid legal document (Subpoena/Warrant) attached as a PDF.

User Privacy Protection

Unless prohibited by law, Host256 notifies its users when a legal request for their information is received. We do not voluntarily disclose data without a valid legal mandate.

Emergency Disclosure

In life-threatening situations where there is a risk of immediate physical harm or death, Host256 may disclose limited information prior to receiving a formal legal request. Authorities must submit an "Emergency Request Form" for evaluation.
